How much would a trip to Bali cost from India?
A trip to Bali from India costs ₹68,000 to ₹3 lakh per person for 6 days and 5 nights including return flights, depending on whether you stay in a 3-star hotel or a private-pool villa, and how much you spend on activities.
That range covers everything: flights, the Indonesian e-Visa on Arrival, the Bali tourism levy, accommodation, a private car with driver, food and activities. The full breakdown is below.

Accommodation, transport and activity figures come from the rates we contract and operate against — including our own 73-vehicle fleet — not from public listing prices. Rupee amounts convert from Indonesian rupiah at the live rate, so they move with the exchange rate rather than going stale.
The costs most Bali packages leave out
These are the six that turn a ₹40,000 quote into a ₹70,000 trip. None of them are exotic — they are simply left off the quote.
Airport-to-hotel transfer
Ngurah Rai to Seminyak or Ubud is 45–120 minutes depending on traffic. Cheap package quotes routinely exclude it, then sell it on arrival at a markup.
The "free" scooter
Renting a scooter without a valid International Driving Permit voids most travel insurance, and Indonesian police do stop and fine tourists. Factor a driver instead.
Entrance fees paid twice
Many temples and waterfalls charge separately per person on top of any tour price. A tour "including sightseeing" often means transport only.
Nusa Penida fast-boat and ticket surcharges
The crossing, the island car, and the individual viewpoint fees are three separate charges. Quotes usually show only the first.
Peak-season villa minimum stays
Christmas, New Year and Nyepi carry 3–5 night minimums and 30–80% rate uplifts. A quote priced in April will not hold in December.
Card and currency loss
Indonesian ATMs charge per withdrawal and most Indian cards add 2–3.5% forex markup. Budget roughly 3% on everything you pay by card.
Where these numbers come from
Bali Malayali is a Bali-based premium destination management company (DMC) founded in 2023 that designs fully customized private trips for Indian and international travellers, with a 15-person on-ground team, a 73-vehicle fleet, and Malayalam-, Hindi- and English-speaking trip architects.
The accommodation, transport and activity bands above are the rates we contract and operate against every week, not figures scraped from listing sites. Third-party costs — the e-VoA and the tourism levy — are quoted from the Indonesian immigration and Bali provincial government portals and were re-checked on 27 July 2026. Adhil P Bhaskaran and the trip-architecture team price these into every quote up front.
Bali trip cost from India — frequently asked questions
How much does a trip to Bali cost from India?
For 6 days / 5 nights, two people sharing, budget roughly ₹42,899–₹49,299 per person on the ground at the budget end, and ₹1,81,399–₹2,50,199 per person at the premium end. Add ₹25,000–₹45,000 per person for return flights. Those ground figures already include the Indonesian e-VoA and the Bali tourism levy, which most quotes leave out.
Is 1 lakh enough for Bali?
For one person on a 6-day trip, yes — comfortably. ₹1,00,000 covers return flights at ₹25,000–₹45,000 plus a comfortable-tier stay with a private car and daily breakfast. For a couple, ₹1,00,000 total is tight: it works at the budget tier with connecting flights booked early, but not with a private-pool villa. For two people wanting a pool villa and a private driver, plan closer to ₹1.8–2.5 lakh all-in.
Is ₹50,000 enough for a week in Bali?
For one person, ₹50,000 covers the ground costs of a week at the budget tier — but not the flight. Return airfare alone is ₹25,000–₹45,000, so ₹50,000 all-in only works if you catch a fare sale and stay in hostels or simple hotels. A realistic solo budget-tier week including flights is ₹75,000–₹95,000. For two people sharing, ₹50,000 each is comfortable at the budget tier including flights, because the room and the car split in half.
Do Indians need a visa for Bali?
Indian passport holders need an Indonesian Visa on Arrival. It costs IDR 500,000 (about ₹2,899) per person, is valid for 30 days and can be extended once for another 30. You can buy it online as an e-VoA before you fly or at the airport on arrival. Your passport must have at least six months' validity. Separately, every visitor pays the Bali Tourism Levy of IDR 150,000 (about ₹899) per person.
Is Bali cheaper for Indians?
On the ground, yes — food, transport and mid-range stays cost less than Thailand's islands, Dubai or the Maldives. The flight is what closes the gap: there are no direct India–Bali flights, so every routing connects and the airfare is higher than a direct hop to Bangkok or Dubai. Bali wins on villa value: a private pool villa that would cost ₹40,000 a night in the Maldives is often ₹8,000–15,000 in Seminyak or Ubud.
How much does a 7 day Bali trip cost from India for a couple?
Scale the 6-day figures by roughly 15–20% for the two extra nights — accommodation, transport and food all extend, while flights, visa and levy do not. For a couple at the comfortable tier that lands around ₹2,02,099–₹2,46,799 on the ground for both people, plus ₹50,000–₹90,000 in flights.
Which is better for Indians, Bali or Thailand?
Thailand is cheaper to reach and easier for a first international trip; Bali is better for villas, scenery and a slower, more private holiday. If your priority is nightlife and short flights, Thailand wins. If it is a private pool villa, rice terraces and a driver who knows the island, Bali does. We wrote a longer honest comparison — see our Bali vs Thailand page.
What costs do Bali packages usually hide?
The recurring six are the airport transfer, temple and waterfall entrance fees charged per person on top of the tour, the three separate Nusa Penida charges (boat, island car, viewpoint tickets), peak-season villa minimum stays and rate uplifts, scooter rental that voids your insurance without an International Driving Permit, and about 3% lost to card forex markup. Adhil P Bhaskaran and the team quote these in from the start rather than on arrival.
